Tom Hardy 'Bane' The Dark Knight Rises

The first photo of Tom as Bane surfaced on Friday, when the film�s official website, TheDarkKnightRises.com, launched.

Brett Cullen ("Lost") and Chris Ellis ("Catch Me If You Can") have signed on to director Christopher Nolan's third "Batman" film, Variety reports. Cullen is set to play a judge and Ellis will portray a priest. The two men join Matthew Modine, Tom Conti and Joey King, whose castings were announced on Friday.

Other new faces in the cast include Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle (who becomes Catwoman in comic-book lore), Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Tom Hardy as Bane. "The Dark Knight Rises" is set for release on July 20, 2012.

Production on "The Dark Knight Rises" is already under way, and on Friday Warner Bros. released the first photo from director Christopher Nolan's film. Now three new actors have officially joined the cast.

Variety reported that Matthew Modine will play a character named Nixon. The pair will play a judge and priest, respectively in The Dark Knight Rises.

The casting news for "The Dark Knight Rises" continues to develop this week, with two more actors joining the cast of the much-anticipated third and final installment of Christopher Nolan's gritty Batman franchise.

According to Variety, actors Brett Cullen (pictured) and Chris Ellis have been added to the cast of "The Dark Knight Rises." The pair join recently announced cast members Matthew Modine, Tom Conti and Joey King, as well as a long list of returning cast members including Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, and Michael Caine. The film will also feature new addition Tom Hardy as Bane, as well as Anne Hathaway as Selina "Catwoman" Kyle, Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake.

Warner Bros. has unleashed an image featuring Tom Hardy as Bane in "The Dark Knight Rises". Modine will play a character named Nixon, while King and Conti's roles are yet to be known.

"Dark Knight Rises" is currently in production with Christopher Nolan serving behind the lens. Christian Bale reprises his role as Bruce Wayne aka Batman, while Anne Hathaway is cast as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman. Anticipation is building for The Dark Knight Rises, and now we're getting a glimpse of the costume worn by Tom Hardy's Bain character.

Christian Bale will play Batman, Michael Caine returns as Alfred the Butler, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as cop John Blake, and Marion Cotillard as Wayne Enterprises' board member Miranda Tate.
