Samsung Focus Review, microSD issues?

Samsung Focus review, microSD issue
Samsung Focus Review, microSD issues?
Samsung Focus puts the larger HTC HD7's display to shame: it's that much more color saturated and bright (to be fair, even the Surround has a richer display than the HD7, and the HD7's display isn't exactly horrid).

In terms of specs, the Focus is *almost* identical to the other new Windows Phone 7 devices. Windows Phone 7 merges internal and SD storage into one virtual partition, so you'll want to install your card of choice before you boot up the phone and put your data on it.

Samsung Focus microSD card issues, in Microsoft's own support documents, the tech giant states something quite similar:

"The SD card slot in your phone is intended to be used only by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) that built your phone and your Mobile Operator (MO).

Now, when the chassis criteria for Windows Phone 7 devices was first announced, microSD cards and external storage slots were not in the cards. It looks like Samsungs workaround in getting Windows Phone 7 to read the microSD card as part of the internal memory has backfired.

Windows Phone uses a special highperformance SD card that works differently than SD cards in other devices. Existing data on the phone may be lost, and that SD card cant be used in other devices or Windows Phones.
