Dead Nation may not be reinventing the wheel, but it definitely puts its own spin on the crowded zombie genre. Dead Nation is a top-down, twin-stick shooter. Dead Nation lacks no depth for being a download only game.
Dead Nation�s controls are tight. The game�s esthetic is �busy�. Throw in four player co-op and you have a great game.
Zombies. Seriously, look around you, and really take into account just how many zombie games or zombie updates games have been receiving. We are in a zombie infested game industry. Me personally I like the Dead Rising zombies better. Right now I want to share my personal experience with the PlayStation exclusive Dead Nation.
With all this zombie knowledge, figured this game would be it for me. Zombies & PS3 exclusivity! Hell, i�ve never even seen a single trailer or clip of game play. The game is a shoot-em-up Arcady Experience. My biggest problem with the game is the zombies. zombie fan boy. Zombies in my opinion should not run. Just because one film had running infected people, society thought they were zombies so now modern-day zombies run. Aside from the white-hot euphoria of blasting hordes of zombies, upgrading is Dead Nation�s strongest suit. Kills and looted containers reward players with money which can then be spent on new weapons (once unlocked) and upgrades for older weapons.
Gameplay
Players are awarded score multipliers and money when zombies are killed. Money is used to purchase and upgrade weapons and multipliers grant better scores. Each time players are hit, they lose multipliers and health. Players fight their way through ten levels, using weapon shops that allow weapon upgrading and armor swapping. During the levels, players can find chests that hold ammunition, multipliers, money, or armor pieces. Armor sets influence strength, endurance and agility.
Zombies are attracted by flares, car alarms and vending machines. Zombies can be killed by environmental hazards which the player can use to their advantage. Players will encounter a variety of zombies. Players can use a melee and rush attack against zombies, as well as a variety of weaponry.
Using the PlayStation Network, players are grouped with other players from their country. When a country is rid of zombies, a new infection cycle begins.
