Kinect for PC, Coming Soon

Kinect official will be available for PC! Microsoft, the software developers, is planning to release a variant that has a number of additional features that are more optimal for PC! Of course, Kinect for PC is not intended for gaming, but more to do other things.


Kinect development for the PC is directly revealed by the team responsible for the project through a blog post on the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN). Craig Eisler, a member of the team revealed that it was preparing a package of Software Development Kit (SDK) for Kinect on the PC along with a special variant. Kinect equipped with a variety of new things that will be utilized exclusively for use in PCs, such as visibility up to at least 50 cm or so-called "Near Mode".

Eisler added, Kinect for the PC and its SDK and also the use of commercial packages, is expected to be ready for market early in 2012.

Kinect originally present as an input device "motion-sensing" for Microsoft's gaming console. However, in its development, many of those who succeeded, though not formally, using these devices for a variety of things. The number of modifications that reveal extra capabilities of Kinect makes Microsoft began planning to bring it to a higher stage with the release of the SDK non-commercial to the network developers and ultimately develop their special variant for use in PCs.
