Mortal Kombat Legacy Machinima

Mortal Kombat Legacy Machinima, VGW's Jen Bosier: Mortal Kombat has not had a particularly amazing track record in the world of film and television. The series then took a sharper turn downward with a subsequent TV series and Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Secondly, other than the fact that it features characters named Jax, Sonya and Kano, theres not really much there to make it feel like its even remotely related to the Mortal Kombat universe. Well-designed sets, interesting weapon technology, testosterone-laden dialogue, well-edited and choreographed fight sequences? A company named Machinima, in conjunction with Warner Bros., brings you the first episode of the new web based series Mortal Kombat: Legacy. Where the episode is less impressive is the story. If Mortal Kombat: Legacy was ever to get spun off into a feature length film, I think I would already be comfortable with Tancharoens name in the directors slot.

Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and Machinima.com today announced they have signed an agreement to premiere and distribute the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat: Legacy live action digital series produced by Warner Premiere.

Fans from around the world will be able to watch and engage with the entire Mortal Kombat: Legacy series through Machinimas YouTube channel.

Kevins new incarnation of the Mortal Kombat franchise is precisely the type of world-class, high-octane action content that our audience will love.

Kevin Tancharoen who directed and produced the popular, unofficial Mortal Kombat: Rebirth fan short, is bringing the same immersive directing style to this live-action digital series.

Machinima is the perfect entertainment destination to premiere the series, said Tancharoen, Director, Producer and co-writer of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. Written by Kevin Tancharoen , Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing, Mortal Kombat: Legacy is an anthology of nine live action shorts, and brings to life the motivation behind each characters participation in the Mortal Kombat tournament. Each episode will provide never-before-revealed insights into characters featured in the upcoming videogame as well as the games universe.

Mortal Kombat is being developed by NetherRealm Studios, led by Mortal Kombat creator and creative director Ed Boon.

Last year, director Kevin Tancharoen ("Fame") caused a major stir when he inadvertently released "Mortal Kombat: Rebirth," a strikingly dark take on the video game franchise that he made in the hopes of getting the chance to direct a new "Mortal Kombat" film. Earlier today, Warner Premiere released the first episode of "Mortal Kombat: Legacy," a new nine part web series that brings Tancharoen's vision to life in live action with some surprisingly high production values. Michael Jai White ("Black Dynamite") and Jeri Ryan ("Star Trek: Voyager") reprise their roles from "Rebirth" as Jax and Sonya Blade, respectively. And for this first episode, they're joined by "Dollhouse" actor Tamoh Pennikett as Striker and Darren Shahlavi as Kano.

The story finds Sonya tracking Kano's illegal cybernetic shipment, which ultimately draws Jax and his forces into an elaborate trap by Kano's Black Dragons. Overall, "Mortal Kombat: Legacy" favorably compares with the first "Mortal Kombat" film from the '90s. If you ever loved "Mortal Kombat," then you definitely have to check this out.
