At a GDC press event, EA announced a multiplayer demo for Crysis 2 will arrive on PSN on March 15th. Xbox Live members had access to an earlier multiplayer beta, and their feedback has gone into development of the multiplayer portion of the game.
The upcoming demo will feature two game modes: team instant action and crash site. While Xbox 360 and PC users have been enjoying the demo for a while now, Crytek and Electronic Arts revealed today that the eagerly-anticipated Playstation 3 demo will be available via Playstation Network on March 15th in North America. The Crysis 2 Demo is now available to download for Xbox Live Gold Members. Just log in to Xbox Live, grab the demo from the games tab, and proceed to enjoy Crysis 2 goodness. You have access to Team Instant Action & Crash Site.
A Demo was also released last night for the PC which is available to download at the EA site. A PS3 demo for the game should be "coming soon".
The demo is in fact multiplayer, and you�ll get access to two maps in which to wreak your gunplay, as well as two different game modes to try, making this a pretty fully-featured game demo, almost a small game in and of itself. Here are some screens taken from the highly controversial PC version of the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo. I don�t know what is going on at Crytek, but the release of this console ported demo makes it seem like they have given up on PC gaming.
