BlackBerry users must have been familiar with this BBM service. But now, BBM is not exclusively made for BlackBerry phones. BGR published it the BlackBerry messenger app is now available for Android and iOS. Theres a hidden goal why RIM now has made this BBM an extent service. Reportedly, the only logic behind the BBM app is RIM wants to counter and capture market share from apps utilizing BBMs concept.
The BBM for Android is a stripped down version, allowing the owners to communicate with friends having the same BBM app. Well, what Android phones to receive this BBM, anyway? Although unknown on other platforms, BlackBerry Messenger has gained a cult following within BlackBerry enthusiasts. BGR reported that BBM for both platforms will launch this year. BGR is reporting that RIM may finally be making it's BlackBerry Messenger service (BBM) available to both Android and iOS devices.
BGR claimed that RIM is making the choice to port the software because of frustration that it is being passed by other instant-message apps on the two other platforms, which are eliminating RIM's ability to own the category. It's unclear, however, whether eliminating those multimedia capabilities will achieve this.
