Over the weekend, at least five rumors surfaced about iPad 2, including a possible new size, support for a stylus, and a more specific release timeline.

The latest scuttlebutt, which echoes earlier rumors, is that iPad 2 will have a carbon fiber case, reducing weight and improving flexibility. Again according to iLounges source, Apple is already testing out carbon fiber cases with the iPad 2, but they might not make it to market, since aluminum versions are also being tested.

Apple is planning to launch the iPad 2 in February, with a release date in March, say the latest rumors. A previously accurate source has provided iLounge with some interesting new details on Apples ongoing iPad development efforts, cautioning that some of the information is very preliminary. 3.

The 7-inch iPad Lives: While Apple apparently decided to scuttle the 7 version of the iPad it was working on last year, our source notes that a key iPad, iPhone, and iPod component provider has been asked by Apple to develop a part for use in a seven-inch iPad. Apple iPad 2
Rumors say the iPad 2 may appear as early as this week and ship starting in March.

Apple is planning an iOS event this week, and the blog Apple Insider, via information from the German blog MacNotes, said that the iPad 2 might make its first appearance there.

CNET UK's reporting that Sir Elton John is being credited for a "leak" about the iPad 2 release, placing the likely release date in April.
Apple may be planning a smaller than usual event to introduce its second-generation iPad as early as next month, according to a scant report, as rumors that the new device will include NFC technology persist.

More specifically, the report claims that Apple is actively developing new accessories that will communicate with the NFC radio chips inside the future iOS devices.
